O1 Drone (Outdoor 1 Drones and Flying RIS) Scenario

O1_drone scenario

  • An outdoor scenario of two streets and one intersection
  • One base station at 6m height and one Flying RIS at 80m height
  • 4 drone grids with a total of ~270k drones
  • Dataset is available at operating frequency 200 GHz

Key components

  • The base station in Figure 2 is referred to as BS1 in the DeepMIMO generator script
  • The Flying RIS in Figure 2 is referred to as BS2 in the DeepMIMO generator script
  • Each antenna array element at each BS or FLIS is an isotropic antenna
  • The height of the base station (BS1) is 6 m
  • The height of the Flying RIS (BS2) is 80 m
  • The separation distance between the Flying RIS and the base station is ~101.86 m
  • The base station (BS1) coordinates are (237.504 , 580, 6) m
  • The Flying RIS (BS2) coordinates are (237.504 , 650, 80) m
  • Four identical uniform x-y drone grids with 4 different heights {40, 40.8, 41.6, 42.4} m
  • These drone grids are referred to as user grids (UGs) in the DeepMIMO generation script: UG1, UG2, UG3, and UG4.
  • Total number of drones = 269,824 drones
  • All drone grids are vertically aligned, as shown in Figure 1, with a length of 440 m and a width of 100 m
  • The first drone in every drone grid is always the drone with the lowest (x,y) coordinate
  • Each antenna array element at each drone is an isotropic antenna
  • First drone/user grid (UG1)
    • The height of this drone grid is 40 m
    • Accessed from Row 1 to Row 124 (124 rows in total)
    • 544 drones per row (544 drones with the same y coordinate)
    • 81 cm spacing between adjacent drones
    • Number of drones in UG1 = 67,456 drones
  • Second drone/user grid (UG2)
    • The height of this drone grid is 40.8 m
    • Accessed from Row 125 to Row 248 (124 rows in total)
    • 544 drones per row (544 drones with the same y coordinate)
    • 81 cm spacing between adjacent drones
    • Number of drones in UG2 = 67,456 drones
  • Third drone/user grid (UG3)
    • The height of this drone grid is 41.6 m
    • Accessed from Row 249 to Row 372 (124 rows in total)
    • 544 drones per row (544 drones with the same y coordinate)
    • 81 cm spacing between adjacent drones
    • Number of drones in UG3 = 67,456 drones
  • Fourth drone/user grid (UG4)
    • The height of this drone grid is 42.4 m
    • Accessed from Row 373 to Row 496 (124 rows in total)
    • 544 drones per row (544 drones with the same y coordinate)
    • 81 cm spacing between adjacent drones
    • Number of drones in UG4 = 67,456 drones
  • The main street (the horizontal one) is 600 m long and 40 m wide
  • the cross street (the vertical one) is 440 m long and 40 m wide
  • The two streets have buildings on both sides
  • The height of every building is written on it in Figure 1
  • Along the main street, all the buildings have bases of the same dimensions, 30 m x 60 m
  • In the second street, the buildings have bases of 60 m x 60 m
  • As for the propagation model, each channel path can undergo a maximum of 1 reflection before reaching the receiver.
